Prospective Members

Postdoc: The Robinson lab is looking for a postdoctoral fellow. We are looking for the best fit, but also someone who can hit the ground running with some exciting work in fundamental nanocrystal research, with projects leading to applications such as supercapacitors and catalysts. Desired backgrounds include chemistry and materials science, synthesis and characterization. Projects involve nanosynthetic chemistry, chemical transformation in nanoparticles, and x-ray synchrotron characterization of nano and energy materials using total scattering (PDF), x-ray spectroscopy, and in situ\in operando diffraction.

PhD: Openings for graduate students are also available. Cornell MSE is accepting a January 2021 PhD class. Positions are open for graduate students within the group. We are seeking motivated students with a strong experimental background and solid scientific strength in one of the following areas: chemistry, materials science, physics, and/or engineering.  Chemistry candidates are expected to be familiar with physical or inorganic chemistry. If you are interested in one of the research areas or if you have a related project that you would like to discuss, please contact Prof. Robinson.

Interested candidates are encouraged to email their CV (+ transcripts for PhD students) to Prof. Robinson (PostdocCornellNano@gmail.com) to initiate a conversation.

Due to the current visa situation, students already in the USA are preferred.
