For Prospective Members

Positions are open for graduate students within the group. We are seeking motivated students with a strong experimental background and solid scientific strength in one of the following areas: chemistry, materials science, physics, and/or engineering. The research will be in the emerging field of energy applications of nanoscale materials.  Chemistry candidates are expected to be familiar with organometallic or inorganic chemistry. The projects include colloidal synthesis of metal and complex oxide nanoparticles for batteries and thermoelectric materials, and design and fabrication of the monochromatic phonon source. If you are interested in one of the research areas or if you have a related project that you would like to discuss, please contact Prof. Robinson.

Postdoctoral position on nanoscale phonon heat transport.

Applications are invited to fill a postdoctoral position at Cornell University for research on the emerging field of nanoscale phonon heat transport.  Candidate will help develop innovative new tools and methods to measure the wavelength dependence of phonon transmission through nanowires, nanoconstrictions, and phononic crystals.
